Description | Sommerville: Sardonyx. The Pallas of Troy, Minerva, the owl with its plumage forming the headdress. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case QQ. Vermeule: Sardonyx. Cameo. (Gold pin mount). Bust of Athena to left, with large owl on her shoulder. Owl is facing and forms a kind of headdress. 18th or 19th century. |
